Regional Advisory Board

There is an Advisory Committee, set up as per the decision of the Board of Governors in April 1987, to monitor the general functioning of the Vidyalayas and periodically review their academic performance. The functions of the Regional Advisory Committees are -

  • to review the progress of the implementation of the academic policies formulated by the Sangathan at the regional level;
  • to monitor academic innovations and experiments in the Kendriya Vidyalayas of the region;
  • to overse the facilities like library, laboratory, audio visual aids etc. in the Kendriya Vidyalayas of the region;
  • to review the progress of games, sports and cultural activities in the Kendriya Vidyalayas of the region;
  • to suggest suitable locations for opening new Kendriya Vidyalayas in the region;
  • to build and project the image of Kendriya Vidyalayas in the region.

The twelve members Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) in each region is headed by the Education Secretary of the State Government. The Assistant Commissioner is the Member-secretary of the Committee.
